Cordell Verweire joined Horizon Drilling as Contract Sales Manager in February 2009 and was appointed Vice President, Marketing in November 2010. Cordell is responsible for business development and marketing for the Horizon Drilling rig fleet. He brings over 27 years of Sales Management experience and with 10 of those years in the contract drilling industry of sales and marketing. He also has 4 plus years of field experience.

Chris Murray

Chris Murray is a Professional Engineer and began his professional life as a Wireline Field Engineer for Computalog Ltd. He became the Global Strategic Sales Manager for the wireline division of Precision Energy Services (who had acquired Computalog Ltd.). In 2004 he was with Apex Oilfield Services Inc. as both a Technical Sales Representative and the Fluid Processing Services Division Manager. In 2006, he was the General Manager for Cedar Creek Drilling.

Dean Lindberg

Dean Lindberg has over 40 years experience in the drilling industry starting in the field in 1965 and then moving into marketing in 1972. Prior to working with Horizon Drilling Inc., he held the position of Contracts Manager at Precision Drilling for 15 years.

Bob Apps
Contract Sales

Bob Apps has 20 years of oil field experience which began after he acquired his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Victoria. This diverse experience has included working in the field and in the office for Ensign Energy Services until 2007 and as the Contracts Manager at Stoneham Drilling from 2007 until June 2011. Bob is currently working towards an Executive MBA from the Haskayne School of Business at University of Calgary while also handling Contract Sales for Horizon Drilling.

Cory Jacobson

Cory started his oilfield career as a Floorhand with Jomax Drilling in 1996. Building on that experience he moved to Precision Drilling, where from 1996 to 2007 he worked his way up to the role of Rig Manager. In 2007, Cory was brought in from the field to work in Calgary in Contract Sales for Precision. Cory’s sales experience includes a year in Houston, TX handling US Contract Sales for Precision. In May of 2011, Cory joined the team in the dual role of Contract Sales for Horizon Drilling and Manager, U.S. Contracts/Marketing for Stoneham Drilling Corp.

Herb (Mac) MacAleenan

Mac received his B.Sc. from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, N.S. in 1984. He began his professional career as an Geological Consultant for Petro Canada in the fall of 1984, working offshore Eastern Canada for 3 years and then on international assignments for Petro Canada International Assistance Corp. (PSIAC) for the next 5 years. In 1994, he started with Ensign Drilling Inc. as a Contract Sales Professional. From 2000 to 2004 he ran his own directional drilling/performance drilling company which was purchased by Pure Energy Services, where he subsequently worked as General Manager of Drilling Services until 2008. He then moved to Stoneham Drilling Inc. as Sales Manager and continues with Horizon Drilling today in Contract Sales.

Todd Jacobs

Todd came to Horizon Drilling through the acquisition of Stoneham Drilling and moved into Contract Sales in October 2011. He brings with him over 9 years of diverse drilling rig experience, including 3 years as a Driller.
